Toms River East Little League

Position: TRELL Board of Directors

I’ve had the opportunity to coach and develop young athletes for several years in multiple sports including TRELL, TRGSL, TRBA, TRFC and other travel organizations. I take pride in watching a player develop and learn, make new friends in a positive environment, and have fun while growing to love the game. I’ve been coaching or managing in some capacity at Toms River East Little League since 2015. I assisted with the Cardinals in Single A from 2015 to 2017. I managed the Knights in 2018 and Iron Pigs in 2019 in the TRELL AAA Division. I assistant managed and managed the Reds (Majors Division) in 2020 and 2021. I was also given the privilege to manage the Toms River East 9 year old All Star Team, who won the Barnegat Tournament in July 2019. I also assisted in coaching the 10 year old All Stars who won the District 18 Tournament in 2020. More recently, I was an assistant coach for the 11 year old All Star Team who won the District 18 Championship, Section #3 Championship, and was a New Jersey State Runner-up in the New Jersey State Finals. I’ve managed in the Toms River Girls Softball League from 2015 to 2019. I had the opportunity to manage the TRGSL 13U Foxes who won the league championship in 2018 and I was also selected to All Star Manager for the interleague All Star Game in 2017 and 2018. From 2017 to 2020 I was an assistant coach for the Toms River Lightening and Toms River Tornadoes. I’ve also coached for the Biopitch Baseball Academy in Wall Twp. for a season in 2020. I am still currently assisting in the Toms River Blacksox Baseball organization.

I have an extensive baseball background having played for numerous elite travel teams and adult/college wooden bat leagues growing up. I had the opportunity to travel across the country while playing for different teams. I played for Hudson Catholic High School in Jersey City and eventually was an All Conference player at Caldwell University for two years. In 1999 transferred to Montclair State University and played for the 2000 team that won the 2000 NCAA III National Championship in the College World Series in Appleton, Wisconsin. These opportunities have given me the experience necessary to develop players properly in all areas, including a good attitude and team mentality.

In 2020 I was elected to the Toms River East Little League Board of Directors and served as the organization’s Safety Director during the COVID-19 epidemic. Historically this was one of the most challenging times for a little league organization. We met as a board on a regular basis and continuously came up with action and safety plans to maintain a safe environment for returning players and families. In 2021 I was elected to Parliamentarian within the Board of Directors. While assigned as parliamentarian I headed several meetings to interpret bylaws and discuss any situations that arose during this time period.

I am in my 20th year in the New Jersey State Police and have had numerous assignments that have made me effective in communication and resolving problems. I am married with 3 children who are involved in numerous sports/activities such as TRELL Baseball, PDA Soccer, Tornadoes Girls Softball, Black Sox Baseball, TR Raiders Football, TRWC, and Intermediate and High School East sports.
